California reference
One date to keep in view.
A small, state-level reminder for a new-hire or qualifying rehire report. This educational calendar is separate from GoodState’s planned notice service; no account or email is required.
Report a new or qualifying rehired employee to California EDD
EDD says employers must report new employees and qualifying rehired employees within 20 calendar days of the first day services are performed for wages. A rehire qualifies only after the employment relationship has ended and the employee has been separated from that same employer for at least 60 consecutive days.

What a signed-in employer will see: annual notice cycle status
GoodState’s service is designed to repeat notices annually with timely follow-up. In the private workspace, an employer will see where their company’s annual notice cycle stands, built only from evidence GoodState has recorded. Everything below is a fictional demonstration with synthetic data: no real employer or employee data is loaded on this public page, and nothing here schedules or sends a notice.
This fictional company has three employees: Rowan Example, Sam Example and Quinn Example. Each scenario shows different recorded activity. Choose a scenario:
As of October 19, 2026

Example Workshop
- 1 employee notice outcome(s) are held as unknown and require reconciliation before cycle status can be asserted.
- Next eligible annual cycle
- January 15, 2027

- Most recent recorded notice activity
- February 20, 2026
